YORICK KNIJFF
In 2012, Yorick was captivated by the vibrancy and diversity of Breda. Through his studies at BUAS and the city's thriving festival scene, he immersed himself in nightlife culture, where he began organizing events with friends. Club Spock became an eye-opener: a physical space where young adults, internationals, LGBTQIA+ individuals, creatives, and others felt at home, a warm, inclusive environment in the dark. The power of that connection on the dance floor left a lasting impression and sparked his desire to make these kinds of ‘invisible’ cultures visible.

Driven by this conviction, he co-founded LINES and CityLegends. Through these platforms, he supports municipalities in the Netherlands and Belgium in truly understanding and engaging with street culture, creative makers, and youth. Cities often lack connection with these groups, despite the perspectives, talent, and energy they bring. Alongside his policy work, he remains active on the ground as founder of the TURF Festival, co-initiator of the Breda Night Council, and a member of the Supervisory Board at Skatepark Pier 15. His mission is clear: to create space for those who think differently and help shift the system. Always with both feet firmly planted in the field.
