STREET SUMMIT

A new year calls for a new Summit. The positive response from the previous edition strongly highlighted the need and urgency for a new Summit. The main theme this year is connection makes impact. Therefore, this year's Summit will be extra interactive and creative by organizing panels, workshops and readings.

Street Summit 2024 Skateland Rotterdam

The Street Culture Summit is a congress day revolving around all things urban culture. Informative, but above all creative. In short: in a different format than you are normally used to at a congress. On this day, urban interested parties are brought together through keynotes, workshops, networking moments. A varied offer, suitable for a broad target group. From street artist to policy maker, club/crew to government.

The system world vs street culture

Having gained knowledge and experience in building organisations in a bottom-up way, Dewi van Maaren started working at the municipality of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. What is it like to work in a completely buttoned-up system with a street culture mind? And is she now alienated from the culture she used to love so much? Is too much understanding of the system emerging?

Locatie

Skateland

Bought for one symbolic guilder, followed by a year of renovation and so the old Nestlé factory has been transformed into one of Holland's famous skate paradises. Meet Skateland. Skateland Rotterdam brings connection to the community without being an association. Freedom is sacred and Skateland fully embraces this. A place that should feel like home, that which belongs to the culture and serves the city. In short: the perfect place for the Summit!
